SPIRITUAL HEALING & HELP LINKS

Lundy Bancroft - Author of "Why Does He Do That?"
Corrie Ten Boom

Corrie ten Boom used an illustration about a tapestry weaving as she traveled about the country sharing her love of Christ. She always showed the tapestry upside down. On the back of any tapestry is a mass of threads that make no pattern. There are light and dark threads of many colors used to weave this tapestry. She said the dark threads are needed to create the tapestry and so it is with our lives. Without dark "threads" in our lives how would we ever appreciate the light threads? We learn so much when we are in our "valley" times. When we are back on the mountaintop we can much more appreciate how wonderful it is to be there. We are less likely to take it for granted. After Cory explained about the dark and light threads used in a tapestry she would turn it over and show the beauty on the other side. So it is in our lives. The next time you take a look at a tapestry, remember this example as you think about your own life. God is weaving a "tapestry" of your life and mine. We will not know what it looks like on the beautiful side until God finishes weaving the tapestry. (See our page for Corrie to read the poem)
