CORRIE TEN BOOM
The Plan of the Master Weaver
My life is but a weaving between the Lord and me,
I may not choose the colors,
He knows what they should be
For He can view the pattern upon the upper side,
While I can see it only on this, the under side…
Sometimes He weaveth sorrow, which seemeth strange to me,
But I will trust His judgement, and work on faithfully,
‘Tis He who fills the shuttle, and He knows what is best,
So I shall weave in earnest, leaving to Him the rest…
Not till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly
Shall God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why -
The dark threads are as needed in the Weaver’s skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD,
which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is thy keeper:
The LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil:
He shall preserve thy soul.
The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth,
And even forevermore.

"Yes, it was my privilege to be a part of the team that worked with
Corrie Ten Boom. It was not a situation where there was a lot of "one
with one time", but we all worked together. When she became a part of
the World Vision program, it added a lot of life to the same. Corrie
was a very sweet "grandmother type". She was the type of person who
reminded everyone of "grandma". She was a very "grandma type" dresser,
and was most appreciative of everything that was done on her behalf.
She was a "Jesus person"... always talking about Jesus. She had a great
sense of humor. She loved her sister, Betsy, and talked about her a lot.
She had a "cute" accent. In fact, it added much to her persona, and
"grandmotherly" image. She was a joy to have around, and never wanted
to presume on anyone. Joy loved hearing her speak, and she was the kind
of person that everyone just wanted to walk up and HUG! Our first
encounter with her was in Muskegon, Michigan at Maranatha Bible camp. As a matter of fact, this was the same location where Joy
was asked to play the piano and I was asked to direct the music for a
Billy Graham crusade, when he was first starting out. We had to turn it
down because we were just moving to Muskegon a few days before the
crusade, and didn't feel we could have time to get prepared for the
event. They brought in Cliff Barrows, and I forget who the pianist was. Jerry |
